We will work together to set initial goals and you will determine the pace that is comfortable to you…baby steps or giant leaps! You will be motivated to make healthful lifestyle choices.

Develop Healthy Habits
Each individual is different, but these are the three most common solutions for overwhelmed and exhausted patients.
- Drinking clean, filtered or spring water assists the body in running efficiently. Water helps cleanse the body and allows for detoxification of chemicals, waste, and impurities. Increase your intake of water and the desire for non-nutrient dense fluids, such as coffee or soda, will vanish.
- Choose organic, whole foods that come from nature, are in-season, and are grown locally. Not only will you benefit from these nutrient dense whole foods but you will support the local farmers. Explore local farmer’s markets and meet the people who actually grow the food. We can teach you how!
- Increase your activity by finding activities and hobbies that you enjoy. Plan activities and exercise with a friend to turn it into a social event. Challenge the body and mind with new creative activities. Think of what you enjoyed as a child and go out and do it. Create time in your daily schedule for activity and stick to it everyday.
Include the above three healthy habits into your daily rituals and your overall health and happiness will improve. I guarantee it!
Eliminate all Sugar From Your Diet
Eliminate All Sugar From Your Diet
Why are we told over and over to eliminate sugar from our diets?
Besides being bad for you in so many ways, sugar distorts our palate. In other words, if we are used to eating sugary foods all the time, our mouth won’t recognize the naturally sweet foods Mother Nature made for us. Fresh strawberries and grapefruit will taste bitter and your desire for a slice of pie wins over a crisp fresh apple. Not to say that we can’t have these treats every now and then, we just can’t overdo it. Sugar is put in everything from canned kidney beans to corn! Read labels, not just the nutritional information section but the ingredients. If you see sugar, raw sugar, granulated sugar, brown sugar, powdered sugar, turbinado sugar, evaporated cane juice, sucrose, dextrose, corn syrup, corn sweetener then DO NOT buy it.
Did you know that sugar requires B vitamins and other nutrients in order to digest in our body. The very thing you crave is what is robbing you of precious vitamins! Well I’ll just take more B vitamins. Not so fast… Sugar does more damage to our bodies than we realize. After we eat sugar, the body produces more insulin and your cravings get worse and you want more sugar – a vicious cycle. The increased insulin in our body raises our cholesterol and promotes the storage of fat. Fat is where all of our toxins are stored. Another vicious cycle!
So why do I want sugar and/or food all the time, I’m constantly hungry?
All diseases aside (except diabetes), your food cravings are largely based on the fact that you are eating empty calories if you are eating things with sugar in them and other junk foods on a continual basis. Your body is being drained of vitamins and pulls them from your system. Because of this drain your body is signaling the brain to SEND MORE FOOD. NOW!
Aside from all the bad things you have now heard about sugar there is yet one more reason to eliminate it from your diet…it ages you!77
Also, read the book Sugar Busters by H. Leighton Steward, Morrison C. Bethea, MD, Samuel S. Andrews, MD and Luis A. Balart, MD for more information about the detrimental effects of sugar.
Be careful selecting a sugar substitute! Some will raise blood sugar as much as if not more than refined white sugar so be careful. Just because it is naturaldoes not mean you can eat it with reckless abandon.
Stevia is an herb used in South America for hundreds of years. Check out the website for more information on Stevia, the real natural sweetener. Stevia helps the pancreas release insulin which is extremely helpful for diabetics.
Dangers of Artificial Sweeteners

Why Choose Organic?
People can lower their exposure to pesticides by about 50 percent by avoiding the top 12 most contaminated fruits and vegetables and replacing them with the least contaminated or buying organic when possible – see the top 12 contaminated produce Food Guide to Pesticides in Produce The site has a handy wallet guide you can download and take with you to the store.
Washing your fruits and vegetables will reduce the residue but NOT eliminate them. Washing should always been done regardless of whether the produce is organic or not. Always wash any fruit or vegetable, even if you are not eating the outside. When sliced, the outside of unwashed produce can contaminate the inside portion that you are eating. Vegetable and fruit “sprays” are available at most supermarkets and are formulated to remove wax, oily pesticides and soil & chemicals. Or, you can simply use white vinegar to achieve the same.

Avoid processed Food
Avoid Processed Food as Much as Possible
If you or your family must eat bread, make sure it is whole grain and not just brown or wheat bread. Read the ingredients label on the package (not the nutritional information section). Make sure it says 100% whole grain. We recommend Ezekiel Bread produced with live grains and without flour.
Food for Life
NOTE: Some people have allergic reaction to wheat and should eliminate it from their diet. Allergies include, but are not limited to: Asthma, eczema, shortness of breath, diarrhea, constipation, sinusitis, headache, joint pain, and fatigue. Here are a few websites for more information on wheat allergies:
If you buy rice, use organic brown rice in place of white rice (if you must use white rice, pick basmati). Brown rice has more fiber and nutrition than white rice and tastes better too. Brown basmati rice has a wonderful flavor and takes about 40 minutes to prepare. You can make a big batch and store in the refrigerator for up to four days.
As a rule of thumb, avoid anything white (or beige). This is easy to remember. If you stop and think of all the foods this color, they are usually not that healthy for you. They have been bleached and most of the nutrients have been removed by processing. This is done in order to make the processing easier on the manufacturer. As in the case of bread the most nutritious part, wheat germ, is removed. Then they happily tell you they have added a fraction of nutrients and call it “enriched”. There are so many healthy nutrients in whole grains that removing them all and then adding in only a few is the equivalent of someone asking you to change a dollar and you give them a couple of nickels in return! You can avoid the confusion by simply cutting wheat or always going with an organic, whole grain bread.
Avoid Soy
Oh no, soy is supposed to be good for me. Why should I stop using it?
Unfortunately, there are many reasons to cut soy from your life. First of all, soy robs the body of calcium and other important minerals. Secondly, most people don’t process soy well in their body and it creates significant gas. Third, most people don’t realize that soy is an allergen and can cause severe allergic reactions in some people just like peanuts. Fourth, it is not to be eaten by those persons who already are hypothyroid as it can suppress thyroid function. And the list goes on…
Soy is in everything now from margarine to canned tuna. Worst of all, it is disguised on the food label as natural flavor, textured vegetable protein (TVP), hydrolyzed vegetable protein (HVP), or the more recognized monosodium glutamate (MSG) just to name a few. If you are not sure what a particular food item is on the ingredient list then don’t buy it until you can contact the manufacturer or find out more about it.
Soy is not the magic potion for curing man’s – or woman’s – ills as once thought to be. You should NEVER feed soy to infants or even those people suffering from intolerance to wheat as it can cause the same complications as celiac disease aka wheat intolerance. Although well absorbed by babies, soy infant formula causes a rise of levels in serum estrogen between 13,000 – 22,000 times the amount of those infants fed milk-based formula or breast fed. What does that mean? Risk of cancer from elevated estrogen levels, growth retardation, disturbing emotional behavior, and earlier than normal puberty are just a few of the complications one might expect.

Avoid Canola Oil
Avoid canola oil? But I thought it was healthy?
The truth is that we have been mislead. Canola oil is derived from the rapeseed plant of the the mustard seed family. It is the most toxic of all oil derived plants. It is nothing more than a weed and deadly for human consumption. It was originally used as a lubricant in industrial machines, as fuel, soap and as a synthetic rubber base. It is the shiny part you see on magazine photos.
The original name for this poisonous oil was rape oil. It was first produced in Canada and after it was processed using irradiation (genetic engineering) it was renamed Canola Oil (Canadian Oil).
Canola oil contains large amounts of “isothiocyanates” – or cyanide-containing compounds. This is especially bad for people with hypothyroid conditions as it prevents iodine uptake in the body and is one of many “foods” that should not be consumed by the hypothyroid patient.
Virtually every product on the market today, whether it be in a supermarket or health food store, carries the ingredient Canola Oil. It is widely used because it is a cheap oil and therefore it is becoming harder to find any foods without it. So what is a person to do? You can make your own mayonnaise using olive oil and just search out the products that do NOT contain the deadly Canola Oil. This unfortunately may mean giving up most of the products that you so dearly love. Most people are ignorant to the fact that just because the product has been deemed safe by an agency it is supposed to be good for you, or at least not harmful. After all, they are the same agencies that told us Vioxx was ok! Sadly that is not the case and we can be your best health and product advocates for you.
Mainstream medicine will tell you there is nothing wrong with Canola Oil and that it is a myth that it is bad for you. Well the reason you are here in the first place is because you want answers that mainstream medicine just can’t give you. Practically every holistic website has some reference to the dangers of Canola Oil.

Good Fats – What are They?
So what kind of oils do I use?
Oils that are high in Omega 3 fatty acids, and cold-pressed oils that don’t use heat or chemicals to extract the oil from the seed, oils that don’t use bleach to deodorize, and those found in dark colored containers so light won’t destroy the nutrients and cause them to go rancid.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Unrefined
- Walnut Oil
- Sesame Oil
- Avocado Oil
Cooking oil produced today is a far cry from what our grandparents used. It has been heated, chemicals added, bleached, and hydrogenated. At the turn of the century, 1900 that is, fats like Flax, Coconut, Cod Liver, and butter were found abundant on grocery shelves. With the coming of World War 2 and rationing we replaced butter with the new kid on the block, margarine. We replaced the wonderful Omega 3 benefits of Cod Liver Oil with canola oil and soy oil and the cheap cottonseed oil.
It’s no wonder why, in the last 30-50 years, degenerative diseases are more prevalent than ever – heart disease, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, depression, hyperactivity or ADHD in children, obesity, Alzheimer’s, CANCER, and diabetes. Prescription drugs used to treat depression have increased 300% in the last 10 years. More and more cases of ADHD in children and Alzheimer’s in adults are cropping up and the number of new people being diagnosed with diabetes is out of control. We have been on the low-fat/no-fat bandwagon for almost 20 years now and where has it gotten us? More obesity than ever before; especially in children. Cutting out the fat in our diet isn’t the answer, cutting the wrong fat out of your diet is.
Your body needs fat to operate, like a well-oiled piece of machinery. It needs fat for the brain, fat for the joints, fat to metabolize the foods slowly in our system to maintain an even blood sugar level, fat for energy and fat to help us keep satiated so we won’t get constant hunger pangs. Besides being good for you, fat in the diet actually helps you lose weight.

Acid/Alkaline Balance
Some studies have shown cancer and some other degenerative diseases are affected by a too-acid mantle, so raising pH to normal levels is desirable. Oxygen is absorbed more efficiently by the cells when the body is tending alkaline, however, alkalosis can be a problem just like acidosis although it is less common. One problem with tending toward acidosis is that the body will maintain blood pH in a narrow range at all costs. When it tends acid, calcium and other minerals are removed from the bones or organs to bring the pH up, and this can cause mineral deficiencies which can affect cellular respiration and nutrition, immune function, and contribute to mineral deposit formation. When it is too base, the kidneys merely excrete the extra minerals, which is no problem (unless there are renal problems.) This is one reason acidosis is much more common than alkalosis. The other reason is most people do not eat enough fruit and vegetables to compensate for all the grains and meats they consume.
There is a simple way to test the body’s pH by using nitrazine paper strips for a few mornings and see what the average pH is. It is usually used for urine, but will work with saliva, too. The ideal pH is around 6.0-6.5 for morning urine. Nitrazine is pH paper that gives an indication of the actual pH rather than litmus paper, which only tells greater or less than 7.0. www.pHion.com is a great place to order pH strips.
If the urine is too acid, the easiest solution is to use a mineral supplement, especially at night. We carry pH drops to help alkalize the body.
Base form minerals like carbonates are not well absorbed by the body so even though the urine is basic, the body in general may not be. When taken with adequate magnesium, calcium carbonate or bicarbonates tend not to form stones or deposits as may be the case of supplementing just calcium carbonate, but it is not the best form to take regardless. Making the urine too base also makes it more likely to suffer a urinary tract infection. The Tri-Salts should really only be used when an immediate reaction is needed, or there is acid indigestion. The best calcium/magnesiums are chelated or combined with citrate to make the pH more neutral to the digestive tract, and since they are better absorbed, work better outside the digestive tract.
As far as adjusting the body pH up through dietary means, the best solution is to eat more fruits and vegetables and less grains, dairy, sugar, and meats. The pH tendency of foods is not based on their acid content or taste, but on the mineral content. For example, lemons make the body alkaline and most bread makes it acidic.
Base minerals (cal, mag, potassium, sodium) balance out acid minerals (sulfur, phosphorous, chlorine). Balance is best – don’t try to overcompensate by eating only base fruits and vegetables since phosphorous, sulfur, and chlorine are also important to the body.
Phosphorous is contained in proteins and most grains. Proteins almost always also contain sulfur and little magnesium or calcium, so they are acid-forming foods. Some fish is less acid forming since they contain a decent amount of potassium (and maybe some calcium and magnesium) to balance out the acid minerals but most are quite acid forming. Most whole grains are not too bad (for this aspect) since they have a little calcium and some magnesium (in the hull) but refined flour, with the hull removed, is acid forming since most of the magnesium has been removed and there is nothing to balance all the phosphorous in the germ. Some nuts have a decent ratio of calcium/magnesium to phosphorous/sulfur, but they are almost all acid-forming except for almonds, with their high calcium and good magnesium content. Dairy products have calcium and potassium to balance the phosphorous and sulfur, so are not that bad in the acid forming respect (but take magnesium with the calcium). Rice and soy milk don’t have calcium or magnesium or quite enough potassium to balance all the phosphorous unless they are calcium enriched, like Edensoy Extra. Fruits and vegetables usually lack the acid components, and can have a good amount of potassium and sodium and a few are good sources of calcium, so are generally base-forming. High content sulfur vegetables like cabbage, onions, and garlic are less base-forming.
The following is an article posted by Richard Loyd that stresses the importance of balance.
The pH Problem
It is thought by many that everyone has a never ending problem with acidity in their systems and that this is the main cause of disease. We must continually combat this problem by eating an “alkaline ash” diet, we are told. It is also thought by many that the urine pH is an accurate indicator of the pH of body fluids.
Alas, the situation is a bit more complicated than that. Those of us who do metabolic balancing are aware that many of our sickest people have body fluids that are very alkaline, and that respiratory rate and breath holding ability are key indicators of the pH of body fluids. A person with an acid imbalance will generally have a resting respiratory rate of 19 or more and if they take a deep breath will only be able to hold it for 40 seconds or less. Why? Because carbon dioxide is used by the body to regulate pH. If the body is acid, the brain tells the body to breathe faster to get rid of the acidic carbon dioxide. The same principle applies to breath hold. The brain says “breathe!” The urine pH may be acid. But if the acidosis is caused by excess potassium in the system, the kidneys will dump potassium and retain hydrogen. (Ain’t evolution clever. If you believe that…) So the urine is alkaline while the body fluids are acid.
Alkalosis is the opposite. A person with alkalosis will generally have a respiratory rate of 13 or slower and a breath hold of 65 seconds or more. Urine pH is generally alkaline, except in potassium depletion alkalosis. In that case, the body retains potassium, and dumps hydrogen (acid), often making the urine acid while body fluids are alkaline!
Causes? Well, there is a metabolic acidosis and alkalosis, a respiratory acidosis and alkalosis, and pH problems caused by potassium imbalances as mentioned above.
There is also an acidosis caused by a glucogenic or fast oxidizer imbalance. Fast oxidation produces excess carbon dioxide and thus alkalosis. Slow oxidizers are the opposite.
Then there are the anabolic/anaerobic and catabolic/disaerobic imbalances. The anaerobic person generally has alkaline urine, high urine surface tension and acid saliva among other signs. Body fluids are alkaline and painful or diseased areas are acid. The body tends to use insufficient oxygen in metabolism so that instead of making carbon dioxide and water from glucose, the cells make lactic acid. Dr. Otto Warburg won the Nobel Prize for proving that cancer is an anaerobic tissue.
The disaerobic person generally has acid urine, low urine surface tension, and alkaline saliva. Body fluids are acid, and painful or diseased areas are alkaline. Huge amounts of free radicals are generated by their metabolic processes.

Why do I crave chocolate?
Because it tastes good! Seriously, a little piece of dark chocolate every now and then is not harmful providing it is every now and then and not every day. Don’t believe what they say about chocolate being a health food, it’s not. You can get the health promoting benefits from other nutritious foods. Your chocolate cravings could mean you are deficient in some minerals, mainly magnesium. Magnesium deficiency is responsible for so many things on different levels from heart palpitations to constipation.
For more information about magnesium deficiency and chocolate cravings see Weston A. Price Foundation Mineral Primer and look at paragraph under Magnesium in bold.
Diabetes
Have you been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes – also known as Adult Onset diabetes? Did you know that diabetes is the easiest “dis-ease” to reverse? Not convinced? You are not alone. Most people, especially those involved in mainstream medicine, do not believe that Type 2 diabetics can be helped without the use of pills or insulin. But the fact is with diet, exercise, and proper supplementation you can reverse Type 2 diabetes. This does NOT mean you can throw out your pills/insulin tomorrow. It takes an all-inclusive, dedicated effort to slowly make these changes. First you have to become educated and find what works for you. Every person is different. Remember that there is no ONE answer for everyone. What works for 1 person may not work for another.

Water vs. Coke
WATER
- 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
- In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
- Even MILD dehydration will slow down one’s metabolism as much as 3%.
- One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
- Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
- Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
- A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or a printed page.
- Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.
COKE and other “soft drinks”
- In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
- You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
- To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the “real thing” sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid cleans out the stains. Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
- To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
- To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
- To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
- To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
- To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
And Now, For Your Information
- The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8.
- It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
- To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.
- The distributors of coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Your Dog’s Immune System
The immune system is the body’s defense mechanism, soldiers fighting a battle against invaders. The invaders are foreign bodies trying to destroy its host (your dog). Over administration of vaccines can be one cause of a suppressed immune system. If your dog’s immune system has been compromised it may manifest itself in one the following ways:
- Excessive Paw Licking (Lick Granuloma)
- Urinary Tract Infection
- Ear Mites or Excessive and Smelly Ear Wax (Candida)
- Aggressive Behavior
- Excessive or Abnormal Itching or Scratching (Urticaria)
This is only a small list of problems due to an immune system that is not working properly. Please see these links for more information on your dog’s immune system and how to support it and/or improve it:

Stop and Chew Your Food
Stop and Chew Your Food!
Now you can hear your mother now telling you to slow down and chew your food… But there was good reason for her to tell you that. Chewing your food thoroughly has the benefit of easing indigestion and chewing starts the digestions process when saliva is mixed with food. If we don’t chew our food enough the results can be gas, bloating and indigested food that creates an overgrowth of bacteria. Chewing thoroughly also helps you to eat a healthier portion size.

Hypothyroid
Have you Been Diagnosed with Low Thyroid?
Approximately 27 million people in the United States have thyroid disease. Most of those diagnosed are hypothyroid, or under-active thyroid.
What does this mean? It means that the thyroid gland, either through drugs, radiation, prolonged stress or removal of the thyroid gland, does not produce enough of the hormones thyroxine and triidothyronine.
The thyroid is the main gland responsible for controlling your metabolism. A thyroid that is not functioning properly can be responsible for high cholesterol, diabetes, weight gain, and adrenal fatigue just to name a few. It also plays a role in maintaining bone density with the secretion of a 3rd hormone, calcitonin, which inhibits bone resorption.
How can I tell if my thyroid gland is not working properly? Low energy, mild depression, constipation, heavy periods, slow pulse and reflexes, a tendency towards feeling chilly, and weight gain to name a few.
“But I have been tested and the doctor said my thyroid is normal.” Even though a standard blood test looks “normal”, your thyroid may be somewhat underactive. Most doctors today rely heavily upon the blood test and base that on their diagnosis for whether or not you have thyroid disease. This is not always the case.
Please visit these links for more information about the Thyroid gland:
Adrenal Fatigue
Adrenal Fatigue
What exactly is adrenal fatigue?
Adrenal fatigue is not recognized by conventional or mainstream medicine. Adrenal fatigue can be very debilitating and frustrating for someone when their doctor tells them that even though they feel tired all the time, can’t get up in the morning, need caffeine and other stimulants to keep going, are always sick, have no sex drive, and constantly feel stressed, that nothing is wrong. Some doctors even go so far as to say that it is the “in diagnosis these days“.
If nothing is wrong why do I feel so bad?
Conventional medicine will only recognize full blown Addison’s Disease, which is when the adrenal glands have been completely burned out. Adrenal Fatigue or hypoadrenia is caused by constant prolonged stress or a series of stressful events like the death of someone close, serious auto accident, life changing events like divorce or moving, having a baby, or serious illness. When these stressful events happen close to one another it does not give the body a chance to recover from the first event.
The adrenal glands help us during times of stress and produce critical hormones for the body to function. Without the adrenal glands, we would not be able to function at all. If you have hypoadrenia, you most likely will have low thyroid. Both should be treated simultaneously giving first treatment to the adrenals to strengthen them, otherwise you may feel shaky, have palpitations, and won’t be able to sleep. Of course everyone has different symptoms and this is something quite serious,so finding a holistic doctor to treat you is paramount.

Exercise to Beat Osteoporosis
We don’t often love to hear this, but the best thing you can do to prevent Osteoporosis and strengthen your bones is exercise. Especially walking, running, and weight lifting. Weight lifting? But I don’t want to look like Arnold Schwarzenegger! Don’t worry, lifting moderate weights won’t make you look like a professional bodybuilder but it will keep you in shape by building muscle mass. Building muscle mass helps to strengthen your bones AND increase your metabolism which helps you lose weight. Yes lose weight… bet that gets your attention! We all want to lose weight but sometimes aerobic activity just isn’t enough. Weight lifting, or anaerobic exercise, deprives the muscles of oxygen tiring them quickly and they require 19 times as much glucose to do the same amount of work as aerobic exercise.
But what does that have to do with Osteoporosis and my bones?
People with high blood sugar tend to have Osteoporosis. So if you are sitting around watching the boob tube get off your bottom and start doing something. Bring your treadmill in front of the tv or better yet bring your weights and lift while you watch. You can incorporate many things into daily activities that help build muscle like taking the stairs instead of the elevator, doing squats and pushups while watching tv, doing leg lifts while in your chair. But don’t let this take the place of a real workout, you need concentration for that but most of all you need to enjoy the type of exercise you are doing. So find something you enjoy and get moving!

Cholesterol: How Low is Too Low?
Cholesterol: How Low is Too Low?
Ever notice that the target total cholesterol level is getting lower and lower these days? And why not, with all the cholesterol lowering drugs on the market today one must wonder what the real story behind those numbers really mean. Who decides what the new normal is? The drug companies are the ones who fund the research so can you trust them?
It used to be that 220 was considered a good total cholesterol reading. Not anymore. The drug companies have us believing that a total cholesterol of 190 or under should be our goal. That kind of thinking is dangerous. Your body makes and needs cholesterol, especially for the hormones to function at the optimal level. A cholesterol level that is too low poses a whole host of health concerns including depression, aggression, stroke, anxiety, and even suicide. Dramatic? Not really, not any more dramatic than the ads for the cholesterol lowering Statin drugs on the market that we are bombarded with every day.
The side effects of Statin drugs far outweigh their benefits. In fact, Statin drugs are known to cause liver damage by inhibiting the enzymes the liver makes when your body produces too much insulin. TOO MUCH INSULIN. Where did you hear that before? What are you doing that causes the body to produce too much insulin? That’s right, too much sugar, refined grains, and processed foods. Elevated levels of insulin are the main cause of high cholesterol. Research has shown that eating food with cholesterol only marginally affects the blood cholesterol level – 80 to 85% of our cholesterol is made by the liver from sugar, while only 15 to 20% is synthesized from dietary fats.
Here are some things you should first do to lower your cholesterol levels:
- Exercise at least 20-30 minutes 3-4 times a week. Walking around your office or home all day does NOT count as exercise. You need to work up a sweat and do it continuously for that period of time for it to be effective.
- Eliminate sugar and lower your grain intake.
- Increase your intake of vegetables and fiber.

Cancer: what you should know
Cancer: What You Should Know
Most important fact about cancer:
Cancer thrives in a sugar environment and cancer loves an acidic body! If you find this fact hard to believe then consider the test mainstream doctors use to detect if a person has cancer – a PET scan. Positron Emission Tomography – is where they inject you with a small amount of a radioactive sugar solution and watch to see the cancer cells going after it!!! If you don’t believe it, here is the definition from the National Cancer Institute. Pay special attention to where they say “cancer cells often use more sugar than normal cells“.

More information about holistic cancer treatments:
Please don’t assume the information presented here about cancer is telling you to abandon your treatments entirely. That is not the case. Of course prevention can be the key but if that still did not stop this insidious disease in its tracks. It is still important to arm yourself with information to ask your doctor about treatment options and other complimentary non-medical procedures. Chemotherapy is not the only answer but in some cases it can and does become necessary. Helping you stay healthy during chemotherapy is the ultimate goal. Just keep yourself as educated as possible and go with what feels right for you.

Positive Mind Patterns
(taken from Health Building, the Conscious Art of Living Well by Dr. Randolph Stone)
To have health we must have it in the mind as an ideal pattern and an objective to work for and lay out our days work and habits in line with that blueprint of heath and life in action of doing and being as we want to be.
Then these patterns will attract the positive particles of space energy and fill the patterns of cells and tissue formation with life’s ions as we live, breathe and think in terms of love and life as our reality and heritage. We will become that which we contemplate.
Negative thoughts and fears attract negative space ions to build into our mind space as negative thought waves and negative energy waves of feelings of despondency and hopelessness. All this because we have discarded the positive pattern of life as our ideal…. We cannot think negative thoughts and reap positive results. If we really want health we must be willing to work for it.
